Wildcats Hit Three Homers in Loss at South Carolina

The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Wildcats, who fell to 18-16.
Jamie Daly's solo home run to right field, his team-leading sixth of the year, gave the Wildcats a 6-5 lead in the fourth inning before the Gamecocks (19-19) answered with two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth.
After falling behind early, Davidson scored four runs in the second to pull even at 5-all. Brendan Fritch's three-run homer cut the South Carolina lead to 5-4, and Fredy Diaz tied the game with a solo blast to right, his first career round-tripper.
Forrest Lietz plated the game's first run with a sacrifice fly in the first. Cooper Collins was the only Wildcat with two hits.
The Wildcats also hit three home runs at Duke on March 31.
On the mound, the Wildcats utilized five pitchers Tuesday, with Parker Jones (2.1 IP, 1 hit, 2 Ks) and Daniel Smith (3.0 IP, 0 hits, 3 Ks) leading the way.

The Wildcats will start the second half of the Atlantic 10 Conference schedule this weekend when they visit Saint Louis.
