Wildcats Fall to VCU in Regular Season Finale

The Wildcats, who tied the game in the top of the eighth, closed the regular season 25-26 and 16-14 in the A-10.
VCU (32-22, 20-10) led 5-0 after three innings and 9-4 after five, but the Wildcats climbed back with four runs in the sixth, including three on a Forrest Lietz double. In the eighth, Brendan Fritch doubled in Scotty Edwards to tie it.
Lietz led the Wildcats with four RBIs, while Theo Loughlin drove in two runs. Matthew Vannoy had a team-high three hits.
The Wildcats utilized six pitchers, including Jacob Vokal, who threw 2.1 innings without allowing an earned run.
