With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 24-22 overall and 15-10 in the A-10, while the Rams (21-26) improved to 14-11 in the league.
Jamie Daly hit two home runs, including a grand slam to cap a nine-run first inning. He also hit a solo home run in the third, taking his season total to a team-high 11. Daly finished a career-best 5-for-6 with seven RBIs, which matched his career-high.
Matthew Vannoy added three hits on a day seven Wildcats had at least two.
Davidson's nine-run first matched its highest inning total of the year (nine-run seventh against Saint Louis on April 18) and included seven hits, but the Rams chipped away with three runs in the second and two in the fourth, fifth and eighth. In the ninth, their eight runs came in via four hits and three errors.

The series continues at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. It'll be Senior Day for the Wildcats, who will honor 10 members of the class of 2026 prior to the game.
