Davidson's baseball team will begin the second half of the 10-series Atlantic 10 Conference slate with a three-game set at Saint Louis this weekend.
The Wildcats enter Friday night's opener 18-16 overall and 9-6 in the A-10.
In league play, they are in a three-way tie for third with George Mason and Rhode Island.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson is coming off an 8-6 non-conference loss at South Carolina Tuesday, when the Wildcats matched their season-high with three home runs.
• Prior to that setback, Davidson had won six straight, including an A-10 series sweep of St. Bonaventure last weekend.
• In the series finale against the Bonnies, the Wildcats rallied from a five-run deficit to tie it in the ninth inning, and they won it on a Scotty Edwards walk-off solo home run in the 10th.
• It was the third sweep of the year for the Wildcats, who also swept Fairfield (two games) and Lehigh in February and March, respectively.
• The series victory was also the third consecutive in the A-10 after the Wildcats also won two of three games against both Dayton and George Mason.
• On Monday, infielder Matt Manjooran earned his second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor, after hitting .471 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and seven RBIs in a 4-0 week.
• In his last three outings, left-handed starting pitcher Cooper Cavanaugh has an 0.50 ERA and 17 strikeouts, while allowing five hits and one earned run in 18.0 innings.
• Davidson's offense ranks first in the A-10 with 11 triples and second with a .399 on-base percentage.
