Browder, 'Cats Roll Past Richmond, Earn Series Split

The Wildcats, who also won the second game of the series, improved to 22-20 overall and 6-10 in the Atlantic 10.
Browder's grand slam to left was his first career home run and made it 16-7. It followed a Jacob Hinderleider RBI-single, and preceded Henry Koehler's RBI-single that gave the Wildcats the necessary 10-run lead to induce the league's mercy rule (after 7 innings).
The sixth was actually the Wildcats' third big inning of the day. Davidson scored four runs in the second, highlighted by Ruben Fontes' team-leading 12th home run of the season — a laser to right — and third in five games. In the seven-run fifth, Ryan Wilson hit both a solo home run and an RBI-single to lead the way, following his RBI-sacrifice fly in the second.
Jake Wilhoit got his first college hit in the second, then drove in two runs on a single in the fifth. Alex Fedje-Johnson plated runs on a second-inning double and a fifth-inning single, and Fontes added an RBI-single in the fifth, as he and Wilson finished with three RBIs apiece.
Alex Fenton got the start on the mound and settled in after allowing five runs in the first. Jacob Walker pitched the final two innings, notching four strikeouts.

The Wildcats will be idle until May 13 when they welcome George Mason to Wilson Field for a four-game A-10 series.
