Wildcats Host A-10 Leader VCU Thursday Night

The Davidson women's soccer team will play its home finale Thursday night when the Wildcats welcome Atlantic 10 frontrunner VCU to Alumni Stadium at 7 p.m.

"It's the last home game and a big challenge," said Davidson coach Adam Denton. "We just need to try to put a complete performance together and ultimately try to get a victory."

VCU enters with a 12-2 overall record and an 8-0 mark in the A-10. Samantha Jerabek leads the Rams with five goals and five assists, but VCU has a balanced attack. Six other Rams have also scored multiple goals.

"They're athletic and dynamic," said Denton. "They get the ball into dangerous areas, and they're solid in the back. They continually put you under pressure, defend with two and attack from everywhere."

Thursday is the final home game for nine Wildcat seniors, who were honored on Senior Day Aug. 22: Mary Grace Bunch, Kendall Bushick, Sam Cascio, Linton Early, Shannon Lytle, Alexandra Menard, Emma Nguyen, Taylor O'Byrne and Kendall Weinfeld.
