'Cats Play to Scoreless Tie at Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Davidson women's soccer team played non-conference opponent Charleston Southern to a 0-0 draw on the road Sunday.Â
The tie puts the Wildcats' record at a solid 3-1-1 to open the 2025 campaign.Â
Despite the empty score sheet, the Davidson offense was not short of chances, taking 23 total shots over 90 minutes and placing seven strikes on target. Leading the way in the offensive surge was senior Dakota Lyons who took six shots on the day with three on goal.Â
Additional multi-shot takers included Sophia Whiddon (4 total, 1 on goal), Reese Montgomery (3 total, 1 on goal), Savannah Pruitt (3 total) and SJ Pak (2 total, 1 on goal).Â
Sophomore goalkeeper Allie Moore played the opening 45 minutes in net for the Wildcats making one save while freshman Grace Stair closed out the second half untested.Â
Claire Deangelis was the lone Charleston Southern player to take a shot on target over the match while Avery Mason made seven saves in goal over 90 minutes for CSU.Â
For the match, the Wildcats held advantages over the Buccaneers in shots (23-4), shots on goal (7-1) and corner kicks (8-2).Â
