DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Davidson baseball continues its seven game home stand this week, welcoming Harvard and (RV) NC Central for midweek contests at Wilson Field.Â

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard enters the week on a four-game win streak, sweeping Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C. The Crimson boast a .500 record on the season with a 6-6 ledger, and are led by the duo of Jake Allen and Austin Black with clips of .375 and .333 respectively. Sophomore Jake Suddleson also presents a threat, boasting a .282 average and a team-best 11 hits with two home runs. Harvard is hitting a stellar .308 as a team, while the pitching staff collectively carries a 6.75 ERA.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
NC Central is off to its best start in the school's history in the modern era, having garnered votes in the National College Baseball Writer Association's Poll last Tuesday, a first for the program. The Eagles will face App. State Tuesday before traveling to Davidson, but come into the week with a 12-4 record. The Eagles have over 150 hits on the season already, led by sophomore Corey Joyce's 26. The MEAC Rookie of the Year and freshman All-American is tied for the team-lead with four homers, but is carrying a team-best .726 slugging. The Eagles have scored an impressive 143 runs on the season thus far, having scored double-digit runs in half their games this season.Â
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Davidson is 2-0 all-time against the Crimson. The two teams have not faced each other since 2004, a 6-5 10-inning victory for the 'Cats.
The Wildcats are 10-1 all-time against NC Central. The Eagles picked up their first win against Davidson in their last meeting in 2013.Â
LAST WEEKEND AT WILSON FIELD
Davidson split a doubleheader with fellow 2017 NCAA Regional participant Yale, picking up its second shutout of the season in a 9-0 victory before falling 7-5 in the nightcap. Sophomore Ward Coleman led the offense, tallying four hits and seven RBI after launching long balls in both contests. Junior Justin Lebek also had a productive day at the plate, posting five hits (including a homer and a double) and scoring three times. Seniors Cam Johnson and Alec Acosta and sophomore Walker Imwalle also homered.
