DAVIDSON, N.C. – Coming off a heartbreaking, but hard fought, defeat at No. 18 South Carolina Tuesday, Davidson baseball looks to bounce back this weekend, playing in a split series with non-conference foe North Carolina A&T.
The 'Cats will travel to Greensboro for games Friday and Sunday, and will host the Aggies at Wilson Field Saturday. First pitches are slated for 6:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. respectively.
The Wildcats will wrap up their longest road trip of the season, having played five games away already before Friday's contest. The squad only hosts six more contests before their regular-season finale at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte.
Davidson enters the weekend with an 18-16 ledger, while A&T comes in at 20-16. Both are looking to snap losing skids.

THE SERIES
Davidson has only lost to the Aggies twice in series history, holding an overwhelming 18-2 advantage. The teams last faced off in 2014, when the 'Cats won 3-2 at Wilson Field. Then-freshman Cody White threw 2.2 innings of relief, allowing just two hits and picking up two strikeouts. Davidson has defeated A&T in the last nine meetings, dating back to 2000 when they lost 3-2 in the first of a two-game set.
Assistant coach Aaron Lynch spent last season on staff with NC A&T, working with the outfielders and assisting with hitting.
THE WILDCATS RUNDOWN
Davidson dropped a heartbreaker Tuesday evening, falling to No. 18 South Carolina 3-2 in Columbia. Sophomore starting pitcher Josh Hudson carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, and the senior duo of Will Robertson and Brian Fortier each homered in the fourth inning to give him cushion. Despite being limited to only three hits all game, the Gamecocks scored twice in the seventh and once in the eighth to steal the win.
-The 'Cats will take an off week from A-10 action, currently sitting in sixth. Robertson tops the team with a .354 clip in league action, but also leads the league in hits (23), runs scored (16), home runs (5), and total bases (41). He has reached base in all 15 conference games this season.
The 'Cats rank second in the league with 32 long balls, trailing one behind league-leader Saint Joseph's (33). Davidson is also ranked nationally for the statistic. The NCAA's leader, Virginia Tech, has blasted 70 home runs on the year. The 'Cats future opponent, No. 17 Wake Forest, sits right behind them with 69. North Carolina A&T has hit 30 this season.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
NC A&T enters hitting .297 as a team, led by junior Myles Sowell's .405 average and .562 slugging percentage to combat his team-high 32 runs. 2016 all-conference selection Adan Ordonez leads the team with five homers and 11 doubles, while junior transfer Greg White provides speed on the base paths, having swiped 13 stolen bases. He comes in on a .381 clip and with a squad-best .468 on-base percentage.
