‘Cats Set to Hit the Road Saturday For St. Bonaventure

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Due to snow, the series between the Davidson baseball team and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies will begin Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. Sunday's contest is still scheduled for a noon first pitch.

THE SERIES
• This is the first meeting between the two teams. St. Bonaventure is the fourth team this season from the A-10 that the Wildcats have never played.
THE 'CATS
• The Wildcats enter the weekend 18-16 overall and 8-7 in the A-10, coming off a setback against Winthrop Tuesday at Wilson Field.
• Outfielder Lee Miller leads the squad with a .371 batting average with 21 runs, 49 hits and 33 RBI in 132 at bats. Two other Wildcats have at least a .300 batting average in the Davidson line up.
• On the mound, RHP Ryan Lowe leads the team with a 2.88 ERA, allowing 15 runs off 30 hits with 27 strikeouts in 34.1 innings. LHP Clark Beeker, who has a 4.43 ERA, leads the team and the conference in innings pitched (65.1) and strikeouts looking (27).
• The Wildcats are currently sixth in the weekly A-10 standings.
THE BONNIES
• The Bonnies enter this weekend 14-15-2 overall and 2-10 in the A-10 and are coming off a split at Bucknell Tuesday. The two conference wins came against La Salle and UMass.
• Shortstop Thad Johnson leads the squad with a .380 batting average with 18 runs, 49 hits and 26 RBI in 129 at bats. Infielder Tyler Walter is the only other Bonnie batting over .300 with a .310 average.
• On the mound, RHP Connor Grey leads the team with a 1.60 ERA, allowing 14 runs off 35 hits with 30 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. Johnson has also spent time on the mound, allowing three runs off 19 hits in 24.1 innings pitched for a team-low 0.74 ERA.
• The Bonnies are currently 12th in the weekly A-10 standings.
LAST TIME OUT
• Despite two Wildcats going 3-for-4, the Davidson baseball team's late rally fell short at it dropped a 6-5 decision to Winthrop Tuesday night.
• Outfielders Lee Miller and Will Robertson led both teams as they both picked up three hits with an RBI in four at bats. Robertson also recorded two doubles to lead Davidson.
• The Wildcats were edged in hits, 11-10, while committing one error that led to three runs in the third for the Eagles. In addition to Robertson and Miller, four other Wildcats picked up a hit on the day, including third baseman Ben Arkin who also tallied a team-high two RBI.
• On the mound, LHP Nick Neitzel started for Davidson and allowed four runs, including three unearned, off four hits with three strikeouts in the first 2.2 innings of play. LHP Freddie Sultan got the win for Winthrop with only allowing one run off four hits in five innings.
• After the two teams traded runs in the second, Winthrop went ahead 6-1 with the help of three runs in the third and two in the sixth. The 'Cats held the Eagles scoreless for the last three innings, but fell short with four runs, including three in the seventh for the loss.

• The 'Cats will return home Tuesday, April 28 to host Elon at Wilson Field at 6 p.m., before hitting the road again for a weekend series at George Mason next Friday.
