DAVIDSON, N.C. – Sophomore forward Stephanie Piperno (Harwinton, Conn.) had her second career two-goal game and Davidson pushed its series unbeaten streak to 10 games vs. Wofford with a 2-1 win on Senior Night Friday at Alumni Stadium in Southern Conference women's soccer action.
 
The Wildcats (7-7-3, 5-3-1 SoCon) ran its record 7-0-3 in the last 10 meetings vs. Wofford and improved to 15-3-3 all-time in the series.
 
After Wofford's (6-8-2, 1-6-2 SoCon) Maggie Bosley tied things up before halftime, Piperno struck for the game-winner at the 61:53 mark when she bent a shot in off the side post for her fourth goal of the season.
 
The sophomore's first goal of the game came just seven minutes into the contest.
 
Goalkeeper Rachel Locke (Carlsbad, Calif.) made the 2-1 score hold up by finishing with four saves to move her record to 6-6-2 on the year. Kimberly Cohn finished with a pair of saves for Wofford.
 
The Terriers had a three-shot advantage, 13-10, but Davidson won the corner kick battle at 4-3.
 
The Wildcats conclude their 2012 home schedule with a 2 p.m. contest vs. rival Furman Sunday.
 
Game Notes: The Wildcats moved to 4-2-2 at home … Prior to the game, seniors Louise Timboe, Julie Calhoun, Rachel Barnett and Rachael Newmister were honored as part of Senior Night … Piperno's game-winning goal was the second of her career … of the seven wins in the 10-game unbeaten streak, three have come at home … head coach Greg Ashton moved five wins from 100 for his nine-year career at Davidson.
