It came after the Spiders rallied to take the lead with three runs in the top of the inning and after Fredy Diaz's bunt single drove in Will McCullough to tie it at 5-all. Cooper Collins, pinch-running after Aidan Rice's single, scored the winning run.
Torreso and Forrest Lietz hit solo home runs in the first and sixth, respectively, for the Wildcats, who improved to 25-19 overall and 15-7 in the Atlantic 10. Jamie Daly added sacrifice flies in the fifth and seventh, helping Davidson carry a 4-2 lead into the final inning, and Daly and Fritch were hit by pitches in the ninth, helping load the bases.
Starter Wilson Perkins (4.2 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER) and Simon Yochum (4.1 IP, 7 hits, 3 ER) had five strikeouts apiece. Yochum earned the win, improving to 7-0.
Richmond (25-20, 12-10) was led by RJ Johnson, who homered and drove in two runs.
