Edwards' Walk-off Homer Caps Rally, Series Sweep

Edwards' walk-off shot to right-center secured the Wildcats' sixth straight win and their first A-10 series sweep of the season. It's the third sweep of the year for Davidson, which improved to 18-15 overall and 9-6 in the A-10. The Bonnies (9-24) dropped to 3-12 in the league.
Sunday's win came in improbable fashion, considering the Wildcats trailed 6-0 in the fifth inning and entered the bottom of the ninth down 11-6. But they went to work and strung together five runs on one hit, two walks, three hit batsmen and three errors to tie it and send the game into extras.
In the top of the 10th, pitcher Simon Yochum, the Wildcats' eighth of the day, allowed two runners to reach with two outs, but he worked out of it by forcing a pop-up to catcher Brendan Fritch in foul territory.
Edwards then led off the 10th and belted the fifth pitch into trees for his fourth homer of the season.
Cooper Collins and Jamie Daly drove in three runs apiece to lead the Wildcats.
The Wildcats previously earned series sweeps against Fairfield (two games) and Lehigh in February and March, respectively.
