Whiddon Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON — Davidson soccer player Sophia Whiddon has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
A freshman from Littleton, Colo., Whiddon scored her first college goal — and the Wildcats' first of the game — in a 2-0 win over Gardner-Webb on Sunday. Her score came in the 36th minute, and she also assisted on the Wildcats' second goal by Maddie Moody in the 61st minute.
Next, Whiddon and the Wildcats will host Longwood on Thursday.
