‘Cats Fall at East Tennessee State

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Playing its second straight on the road to open the 2022 campaign, Davidson suffered a 3-0 setback at East Tennessee State Sunday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action.
The start of today's contest was delayed nearly an hour due to severe weather in the Johnson City area.
Carlos Portas put the Bucs ahead 7:20 into the match and extended their lead with another strike shortly after intermission.
Kieran Richards, who scored twice in ETSU's 4-0 win over Longwood earlier in the week added a goal in the 74th minute.
Despite the loss, the Wildcats (0-2-0) finished with a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks, while the Bucs held a 15-11 edge in shots.
For the second straight contest, Giacomo Piccardo recorded six saves for the 'Cats.

Davidson will open the home portion of its schedule Thursday afternoon with a 4:30 p.m. start against in-state foe Campbell.
