‘Cats Fall to Nationally-Ranked Campbell in Home Opener

DAVIDSON, N.C. – No. 21 Campbell scored a goal in each half to defeat Davidson, 2-0, in the Wildcats' home opener Thursday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
The 'Cats fall to 0-3-0 on the season, while the Camels remain undefeated, improving to 3-0-0.
Campbell, which was a man down after a Diego Konincks red card five minutes in, got goals from Daniel Hernandez (34') and Kemy Amiche (62') to avenge last year's 3-1 setback to Davidson in Buies Creek.
Davidson had a number of chances, including an attempt late in the second half by Denis Krioutchenkov that hit the right post. Krioutchenkov and Vincent Bennage combined for nine of their club's 11 shot attempts.
Both teams put three shots on frame, while the Camels finished with a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.

The Wildcats will play four of their next five on the road beginning with a 6 p.m. kickoff at Georgia State Tuesday evening.
