Wildcats Drop 3-1 Decision at Georgia State

ATLANTA, Ga. – Despite Davidson holding a 17-9 advantage in shots, the Wildcats fell 3-1 at Georgia State in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday night at the GSU Complex.
With the win, the Panthers remain unbeaten improving to 3-0-1, while Davidson falls to 0-4-0 to start the 2022 season.
Georgia State got on the board in the 24th minute with a goal from Simon Carlson and stretched its lead to 2-0 later in the opening period on a strike by Mario Arrocha.
Trailing 2-0 at intermission, an own goal for the 'Cats 3:47 into the second period to cut the deficit in half.
Less than two minutes later, the Panthers extended the margin back to two with a score from Tom Williams off an assist from Justin Mclean.
The Wildcats also held a 7-5 edge in shots on target and 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Davidson returns home to Alumni Stadium Friday evening for a 7 p.m. "Senior Night" match against Averett University.
