OLEAN, N.Y. — Six different Wildcats scored multiple goals and Davidson cruised on the road to a 15-2 victory against St. Bonaventure Sunday afternoon in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse at Marra Complex.
The 'Cats, who improved to 5-2 on the road, won their second straight to move to 9-7 overall and evened their league mark at 4-4. The Bonnies remained winless at 0-16 and 0-8 in A-10 games.
Sarah Kopp and Christine Molinari each registered hat tricks, while Sophia Sgroi, Tess Rieman, Shannon Blee and Katie Woodruff had two goals apiece. Sgroi added an assist for three points, while Shayne Antolini had a team-high two assists.
For St. Bonaventure, Krya O'Gorman scored both goals, and Ashley Easterday and Destinee Johnson picked up an assist each.
Behind Molinari's two goals to open the game, Davidson went up 4-0 10 minutes in. After a SBU goal at 18:28, Sgroi started another 4-0 run with back-to-back scores and the Wildcats had an 8-1 lead at the half.
Much was the same in the second half, with the 'Cats dominating by winning the half 7-1. They pushed their lead to double digits on Woodruff's second goal of the game with 15:47 left and finished out with three straight goals from Reiman, Kopp and Blee.
Senior goalie Rose Woolson and the defense took care of the rest, giving up just the two goals for a season low. Woolson stopped four shots to go with two groundballs. The defense caused 15 turnovers, three each by Natalie Junior and Jordan Wood.
In addition to her solid offensive day, Sgroi hauled in a career-high seven draw controls, while Antolini pulled in five.
Davidson controlled possession the majority of the game, leading in shots (37-12), groundballs (25-15) and draw controls (16-3). The 37 shots were a team season high. The 'Cats also went impressive 7-of-10 on free-position shots.
Davidson closes out the regular season with a trip to George Washington, April 28, with gametime set for 1 p.m.
