DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson plays a pair of home games this weekend when it hosts George Mason and Massachusetts in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse action at Richardson Stadium.
The Opening Draw Control
Davidson (3-7, 0-2 Atlantic 10) seeks to get back on the winning track Friday when it plays George Mason (7-4, 2-1 A-10) at 5 p.m. Then it wraps up the weekend by hosting six-time A-10 champion UMass (11-1, 3-0 A-10) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Minutewomen have been receiving votes in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Assocation poll.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
This will be the fourth time the Wildcats and Patriots have met each other, but first time since 1996. George Mason, which leads the all-time series 3-0, earned a 14-9 win in last matchup on Davidson's home field back in 1996.
As for the all-time series vs. UMass, this will be the first time each team is facing each other.

Record Watch
Senior Emily Cooke moved into sole possession of second place in the record books in points after recording four points in a win vs. Bucknell, March 11. The attacker pushed her career total to 191 to pass Amanda Fleck, who had 185. Cooke, who has 194 career points, already holds the school's all-time assist record, increasing her total to 121 after a three-assist outing vs. George Washington, March 27.
Fellow senior Emily Rademacher ranks third all-time with 126 draw controls. Junior Emma Sissman holds the career mark with 170, while her 92 goals are eighth all-time. Goalie Katy Boyle moved into the top-10 all-time in saves with 220, ranking seventh, while her 9.45 career goals against average is tops all-time.
Weekly Honors
Senior Emily Cooke and freshman Christine Molinari became the first Davidson women's lacrosse players to earn Atlantic 10 weekly awards as the duo were named the player and rookie of the week for games played from Feb. 16-23.
Six in a Row at Home
Davidson had a six-game home streak that came to an end in a defeat to Navy, Feb. 21. The streak start last March 22 against Elon, a 15-8 triumph. The Wildcats rattled off wins against Old Dominion, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina and Liberty to finish out the year. They then opened the 2015 season with a 21-4 triumph over Kennesaw State to capture their sixth straight.
The record is seven straight set from the 2008 season into the start of the 2009 campaign.

Davidson ranks in the top-50 in several different categories nationally as a team and individually as of April 6...

Last Time Out ...
DAVIDSON — Richmond's freshman Kim Egizi scored the game-tying goal in regulation and then assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime to help send the Spiders to a 6-5 win over Davidson last Saturday at Robins Stadium in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse action.
In a defensive battle, the Wildcats held a 5-3 lead after back-to-back scores from Christine Molinari and Arden Simone with a little less than 16 minutes left in the game. But the Spiders countered with three straight goals, including the game-tying score from Egizi with 1:38 left in regulation. Then with 3:10 on the clock in overtime, Bailey Zerr netted the game-winner off a pass from Egizi.
Molinari paced the 'Cats with a season-high two goals, while three other players scored a goal each. Morgan Burch and Emily Rademacher each picked up an assist.
Goalie Katy Boyle finished with her second straight double-digit save game, and fourth of the season overall, stopping 10 shots. She also had two of Davidson's groundballs.
Emma Sissman hauled in four draw controls, while defender Holly Thomas finished with two groundballs and a caused turnover. She has a team-high 16 caused turnovers on the season.
Last Time Out ...
GEORGE MASON — George Mason lacrosse held off a late La Salle rally as the Patriots would defeat the Explorers 12-9 last Friday afternoon at home.
On the game, Taylor Carpentier had five saves while Caitlin McGinn led the Patriots offensively with four goals followed by Lobaccaro with three goals and an assist.
The Patriots grabbed a 6-2 lead before La Salle scored two to end the first half for a 6-4 score. The second half started quietly with no goals for either side over the first four minutes of play. However, McGinn broke through for a goal with just under 27 minutes to play and sophomore Alexa McGovern would net one of her own less than 30 seconds later.
The Patriots would hold its largest lead of six goals, 12-6, with 5:03 to play in the second half. La Salle scored three goals in a 90 second span, but it was not enough as Mason held on.
UMASS — Paced by the trio of Hannah Murphy, Amy Tiernan and Holly Turner, the UMass women's lacrosse team defeated Vermont 16-7 on Wednesday afternoon in the Minutewomen's final non-conference tilt of the season. UMass moved to 11-1 on the season, collecting its fourth staright win. It opened the year on a seven-game win streak.
Murphy netted a game-high four goals, while Tiernan and Turner each had three on the day. In addition to their goals, Tiernan and Murphy each added two assists. Turner added an assist as well, while Eileen McDonald pitched in two goals and an assist.
The game was nip-and-tuck throughout much of the first half. Both teams traded goals in the first 90 seconds of play before the Minutewomen went up 3-1. Later in the half, UMass closed the final six minutes on tear scoring four straight goals. Tiernan and Murphy combined for a pair of goals in the final 21 seconds of the stanza giving the Minutewomen an 8-3 lead at the intermission.
Vermont was able to close the gap to four goals to start the second half, but another three goal spurt over a five minute span gave UMass the separation it needed at 12-5. Defensively, Rachel Vallarelli earned the win in cage making six saves while Anne Farnham held the nation's third-leading scorer Jessica Roach (49 goals entering the game) to just two assists.
