'Cats Fall To No. 11 Clemson On The Road

CLEMSON, S.C. - Despite Jenna Skibbe's two goals and Lydia Canavan's two caused turnovers, the Davidson women's lacrosse team fell to No. 11 Clemson 21-5 at Conklin Field on Tuesday night. The Wildcats fall to 9-3 (3-2, A-10) and the Tigers improve to 10-4 (4-3, ACC).
With Davidson behind 3-0, Brooke Ross threaded a ball through the defense and found Jenna Skibbe who scored a goal with 8:17 left in the opening quarter. The Wildcats trailed 5-1 after one quarter.
Allie Harnett sparked the 'Cats in the second quarter with a goal in transition. Clemson responded with six straight goals in the second quarter and led 11-2 at halftime.
The Tigers outscored the Wildcats 10-3 in the second half. Devyn Martinez, Jenna Skibbe, and Brooke Ross all scored for Davidson in the second half.
Clemson's Alex Spallina recorded 10 assists in the game. The Tigers had 10 different people score at least one goal.

Davidson returns to A-10 play this Saturday, April 4 against the Rhode Island Rams on the road. Opening draw is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
