
Davidson Defeats George Washington 11-10 in Overtime

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Jacqueline Callahan scored the game-winning goal in Davidson's 11-10 victory over George Washington in overtime on Saturday afternoon. Callahan led the 'Cats with a career-high three goals and the third one came with just 54 seconds gone by in overtime.
Davidson trailed 6-3 after with 12:05 left in the second quarter. Aeryn Curren and Jacqueline Callahan each scored a goal and the 'Cats only trailed by one goal at halftime.
The Wildcats jumped out of intermission and scored three unanswered goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter. Brooke Ross, Jacqueline Callahan, and Allie Hartnett each scored during this stretch. Davidson led 8-6 up until the 7:56 mark in the third quarter. Following this, George Washington scored back-to-back goals and tied the game, 8-8, with 3:22 left in the third.
Kaitlyn Uller and Devyn Martinez tallied back-to-back goals to start the fourth quarter. Davidson led 10-8 with 9:04 left in regulation. Daisen Iwan answered back for George Washington with two straight goals. The game was tied, 10-10, at the 3:55 mark in the fourth quarter.
Seven Wildcats scored at least one goal in this game. Margit Crittenberger recorded four ground balls and also had two caused turnovers. The freshman has 12 ground balls over the last three games.
Davidson improved to 8-2 (2-2, A-10) and George Washington dropped to 7-4 (2-2, A-10). The Wildcats are also 5-0 on the road this season.
