'Cats Top Revs in Opener, Saturday's Game Moved Up

The win is the third straight and fifth in the previous six games for the Wildcats, who improved to 21-23 overall and 14-8 in the Atlantic 10.
Jack Cotrone, Cider Canon, Anthony Torreso and Noah Jouras homered for the Wildcats, who built a 7-2 lead through four innings.
Cotrone's two-run shot in the second gave the Wildcats a lead they never lost, and Canon's three-run blast in the fourth was his team-leading 15th. Torreso and Jouras added solo shots in the fifth and seventh, respectively.
Canon also doubled and finished 4-for-4 with four RBIs, while Torreso and JD Woodall had two hits apiece. Torreso's RBI-double in the first got the Wildcats on the board, and Eli Putnam's two-run double in the sixth pushed the lead to 10-5.
Starter Isaac Fix struck out a career-best nine in five innings, while earning his fifth win. Matt Weber pitched the final four frames, struck out a career-high seven and picked up his fourth save.
Weber entered in the sixth and worked out of a bases-loaded jam with two strikeouts and a flyout to left.
