WASHINGTON D.C. -- Kayla Joyce of the Davidson women's lacrosse team has been named the Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year as one of seven Wildcats to be named to an All-Conference team, the league office announced Thursday.
Joyce was the main backstop for a Davidson defense that ranks fifth in the country in goals-against average, allowing just 8.66 goals per game. The sophomore keeper also finished first in the Atlantic 10 with a .511 save percentage, good for fourth nationally among goalkeepers' save percentages.
Also logging 142 saves, tied for 32nd in Division I, Joyce held 10 opponents to single-digit goals, including four 4-goal performances, during her second season as a Wildcat.
In addition to Joyce's major award, she was also named to the All-Conference First Team with Jenna Skibbe, Allie Hartnett and Riley Moore. Josie Lambert (Second Team), Lydia Canavan (All-Rookie) and Reagan Terrell (All-Academic) rounded out the postseason honors for the Wildcats.
A threat on both ends of the field, Hartnett collected her third straight First Team recognition. A midfielder with 22 points, 22 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and 33 draw controls, Hartnett remains a dynamic staple in the Wildcats' midfield and A-10 lacrosse. Skibbe, last year's Rookie of the Year, broke Davidson lacrosse's 12-year-old program record with 55 goals in a single season, ranking third highest in the Atlantic 10 and 27th nationally. Moore, a 2022 All-Rookie honoree, wrapped up her final regular season with career- and team-highs in both ground balls (37) and caused turnovers (25) as another key part of the midfield.
Senior attacker Lambert was also named to the Second Team All-Conference squad for the second straight year. Lambert leads the team in points, tallying 57 between 49 goals and 8 assists. She scored a game-winning goal in back-to-back games in mid-March and ranks eighth in the Atlantic 10 in goals per game (3.06).
Canavan was named to the All-Rookie team after starting 10 games and becoming a core part of the Davidson defense this year. With 15 caused turnovers and 29 ground balls as a freshman, Canavan's honor continues Davidson's streak of having at least one Wildcat named to the All-Rookie squad since joining the Atlantic 10 in 2014-15.
Terrell's All-Academic Team nod closed out the Wildcats' 2025 postseason honors. A senior psychology major from Cary, N.C., Terrell has started in all 16 games this year, picking up 15 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, as part of a Davidson defense that ranks fifth nationally in scoring defenses (8.56). She also leads the program's philanthropic efforts, which has raised money and awareness towards breast cancer research, the HeadStrong Foundation, Jane's Fund and Morgan's Message during this season alone.
The Wildcats begin their quest towards an Atlantic 10 title Thursday, May 1, as the No. 3 seed, taking on No. 6 VCU at 3 p.m. in Richmond. Davidson has made the conference tournament semifinals four years in a row.
