'Cats Host Lafayette in Weekend Series

The Davidson baseball team will complete its seven-game homestand this weekend when Lafayette visits for a three-game set.
Friday's first pitch is set for 5 p.m., with early-afternoon games to follow on Saturday and Sunday.

LATEST ON THE 'CATS
•  The Wildcats are 2-5 after falling 13-6 to Wofford Wednesday night at Wilson Field. It was the Wildcats' third straight loss.
• On weekends thus far, the Wildcats have split a doubleheader with Bryant and won one of three games against Bucknell.
• The Lafayette series is the Wildcats' third straight weekend at home. They'll travel to Clemson March 7-9.
• Freshman outfielder Jamie Daly is leading the Wildcats with a .429 (9-for-21) average, a 1.238 OPS and six RBIs. He's also hit two doubles and one home run.
• Catcher/outfielder Noah Jouras is hitting .417 (10-for-24) with a 1.188 OPS, three doubles, the team's only triple, 15 total bases and two stolen bases. He's one of four Wildcats with three doubles, joining Michael O'Shaughnessy, Forrest Lietz and Adam Katz.
• Lefty pitcher Isaac Fix has set the standard on the mound so far. In 9.2 innings, he's carrying an 0.93 ERA and 0.83 WHIP, while allowing six hits and one earned run and striking out five.

SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS
• Lafayette enters the weekend 0-7 after losing four games at Southern Mississippi Feb. 14-16 and dropping three at Western Kentucky Feb. 22-23.
• Easton Brenner is leading the offense with a .444 average, a 1.343 OPS, three doubles, a home run, seven RBIs and a .778 slugging percentage.
• Jack Mislan (2) is the only Leopard with multiple home runs.
• Ethan Swidler was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team after earning First Team honors and hitting a team-best .327 last season.
• Lafayette's visit is its fourth to Davidson in six seasons (2020, 2022, 2023). The Wildcats won two of three games in 2020 and 2023 and swept the Leopards in 2022.
