Wildcats Meet Charlotte in Kannapolis Tuesday

For the fourth straight season, the Davidson baseball team is scheduled to play a game at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, and that contest is next on the calendar.
The Wildcats will meet the Charlotte 49ers at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Single-A minor league ballpark.
The 49ers will serve as the home team in the neutral-site game.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson is 7-12 after winning one of three games at Tennessee Tech over the weekend.
• Corner infielders Eli Putnam and Michael O'Shaughnessy lead the Wildcats with five home runs and 22 RBIs.
• Putnam is also the team leader in average (.366), slugging percentage (.648), OPS (1.119), doubles (5) and total bases (46).
• O'Shaughnessy is hitting .314 with a .995 OPS.
• Catcher Jacob Friend is hitting .354 with a 1.093 OPS and leads Davidson with 19 walks and a .551 on-base percentage.

• Charlotte enters 10-10 and lost two of three against UNCW during the weekend.
• Outfielder Thad Ector leads the offense with a .361 average, a 1.054 OPS, four home runs and five stolen bases.
• Outfielder Johnny Sutryk (.317), and infielder Noah Furcht (.306) also hit north of .300.
• Infielder Brandon Stahlman hits .295 and has a team-best 16 RBIs.
• The 49ers are in their first season in the American Athletic Conference after winning the Conference USA championship last year.
• Charlotte has won at least 35 games in each of the last three seasons, including going 36-28 a year ago.
• Also last season, the 49ers made their second NCAA Regional in three years and seventh in program history.
• Davidson graduate AJ Pabst, who led the Wildcats with 23 mound appearances last season, is playing a fifth year at Charlotte.
