Koehler, Wildcats Wrap Up A-10 Series Win at Saint Louis

With the win, the first-place Wildcats improved to 12-3 in league play, and, at 33-9 overall, they have also matched the second-best wins total in school history (2018). Davidson exits the weekend with a two-game A-10 lead on VCU (10-5).
Koehler's first grand slam was one of four Wildcat home runs in Sunday's finale with the Billikens, who entered the day as one of three teams tied for second in the league.
It came in the seventh two batters after the Wildcats took a 6-5 lead on Parker Nolan's RBI-single. Koehler's shot to the scoreboard in right was his fourth of the year and first career grand slam.
Michael Carico got the Wildcats started early Sunday with a leadoff home run. It's his 15th homer of the year, which ties him with Dave Turgeon (1987) and Brian Fortier (2017) for the third-best single-season program mark.
Jake Wilhoit blasted his first college home run, a two-run shot, in the second inning, and Trevor Candelaria's two-run shot in the eighth made it 12-6.
Everyone in the Davidson lineup had at least one hit, led by Carico, Candelaria, Nolan and Koehler, who had two apiece. Candelaria, Koehler, Wilhoit and Tyler Douglas had multiple RBIs.
Starter Ryan Feczko threw three innings and left with a no-decision after allowing four hits, two earned runs and striking out one. Ryan Kutz threw the next 3.2 innings and struck out five, while surrendering two hits and three earned runs in the win.
