Wildcats Drop Series Opener to Billikens

The loss drops Davidson (31-9 overall) to 10-3 in the Atlantic 10, just ahead of the 9-4 Billikens.
Down 4-0 after five, the Wildcats got on the board in the sixth with RBI-doubles by Parker Nolan and Ryan Wilson.
Then, with a four-run deficit entering the seventh, the Wildcats plated runs on Jake Wilhoit's RBI-single, Michael Carico's sacrifice fly and Trevor Candelaria's RBI-double.
Wilson led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5, while Candelaria finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and Jacob Hinderleider was 2-for-3 with a double and triple.
Starter Nolan DeVos went five innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs and striking out five.
Bennett Flynn had another strong outing from the bullpen, tossing three innings, striking out four and allowing one hit.
