DAVIDSON, N.C. — Looking to get back on the winning track, the Davidson women's soccer team returns to Alumni Stadium and plays host to UNCG Friday night as part of the Wildcats' Senior Night.

Davidson (2-4, 0-0 A-10), entering its 30th year of women's soccer, will welcome the UNCG Spartans (4-1-1, 0-0 SoCon) at Alumni Stadium Friday, September 7, for a 7 p.m. contest.
Senior Night & Youth Soccer Club Night ...
Friday's game will be Senior Night for Davidson as it honors Kendall Thomas, Natalie Connell, Shannon Ballard, Megan Goodling, Perry Zollicoffer, Mia Hodges and Alexa Landsberger prior to the start of the game vs. the Spartans.
In addition, it is Youth Soccer Club night. All kids part of youth soccer clubs along with fans will have a chance to meet the Wildcats in person with an autograph session following the conclusion of the game.
The All-Time Series/Last Meetings ...
The game vs. UNCG will be the 30th meeting all-time between both schools. Davidson trails 23-5-1 in the series, which dates back to 1989, and is looking to snap a four-game losing streak in the series.
The last meeting occurred in the 2013 season during the Wildcats' final year in the Southern Conference. Played at Alumni Stadium, UNCG's Ashley Stokes scored the lone goal of the game in the first half in spoiling Davidson's senior night. It was the third straight 1-0 game played by both schools.
A-10 Preseason ...
The Atlantic 10 preseason poll came out earlier this week and the Saint Louis Billikens were chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. The league's head coaches also voted for an 11-member preseason all-conference team.
The Billikens (15-3-2, 7-2-1 A-10 last year) earned 192 votes and ten first-place tallies to take the top spot in the rankings. La Salle ranked second in the predicted order of finish with 184 points and four first-place votes, followed by Duquesne and George Mason, who each tallied 145 votes to round out the top four spots. Davidson received 36 votes and was tied with St. Bonaventure for 12th place.
Previous Game For the Wildcats ...
Georgia Southern scored a late first-half goal (40:15 mark) that proved to be the game winner as Davidson dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision on the road last Sunday. The game was fairly even across the board with the Wildcats holding a slim 13-12 edge on shots and GSU having a 3-2 edge on corner kicks.
Scouting the Wildcats ...
•Davidson is coming off an 0-2 week last week against Mercer (L, 0-3) and at Georgia Southern (L, 0-1).
•Alexis Pheng paces the team with two goals and four points, getting one of those goals on a game-winning header vs. USC Upstate in overtime.
•Perry Zollicoffer has a career-high three assists, while fellow senior Natalie Connell has a goal and an assist.
•Michele Maceaux had a team-high 13 shots, with eight of them on goal.
•Mary Grace Bunch and Sarah L'Hommedieu have each started three game. Bunch has 15 saves, while L'Hommedieu has 11.
•Davidson is 1-2 at home this year, scoring a 3-2 overtime win against USC Upstate, Aug. 20.
