Baseball Canceled In Top Of 4th At Wake Forest Wednesday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Davidson baseball game at Wake Forest got postponed in the top of the fourth due to rain Wednesday night at Gene Hooks Field at the Wake Forest Ball Park. The two teams were tied at three.
Davidson (15-15) and Wake Forest (22-16) have yet to set a date to resume play.
The Wildcats outhit the Demon Deacons, 6-5, while Wake Forest committed one error.
After two runs in the first for Wake Forest, the 'Cats took momentum in the second inning, picking up three runs off four hits to take a 3-2 lead. Davidson recorded three-straight singles after third baseman Ben Arkin notched the first double of the day.
In the bottom of the third, the Demon Deacons tied the score at three with a run off a double to left center.
RHP Nick Neitzel started for the 'Cats, pitching the first 1.2 innings and allowing two runs off two hits with a strikeout. LHP Evan Roberts replaced Neitzel for the remainder of the contest.
Davidson will return home for the first time in eight games as the Wildcats host Dayton for a weekend series starting Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m.
