Madison See joined Davidson Athletics as the Director of Mental Health in 2024.
However, See is no stranger to Davidson, having spent more than a decade within Davidson Athletics in some capacity. See played women’s soccer for the ‘Cats from 2012-2016 and graduated from Davidson College with a degree in religious studies in 2016.
Upon graduation, she joined the women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach from 2016-2021. Prior to her current role, See worked as a contract mental health provider with the athletic department.
As the Director of Mental Health for Athletics, See oversees the clinical mental health care, wellness, and sports performance of all teams and athletes. In addition to her clinical caseload, she is responsible for developing policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of care for Davidson’s scholar-athletes. She works alongside multiple departments on campus and within the athletic department to provide a holistic model of support.
As a former scholar-athlete who was first introduced to therapy during her collegiate years, See recognizes the courage it takes to reach out for help, and she brings this empathy and awareness into her work. Her aim is to help scholar-athletes succeed during their time at Davidson and, ultimately, to help them grow into the best and healthiest versions of themselves.
See completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is a Ph.D. Candidate at Regent University. See is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor. See is a professor, supervisor, speaker, and researcher, whose professional interests include disability research, multicultural competency, trauma, grief, chronic pain, and mental health care for high-level athletes. Prior to her role at Davidson, See worked in hospice care, an agency setting, and private practice.
A Georgia native, See currently lives in Davidson.
