Three Wildcats Named to A10 All-Conference Team

WASHINGTON — Davidson field hockey players Matilda Collins, Eva van der Kooi and Lourdes Wolf have been named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Additionally, the Wildcats were picked to finish fourth in the seven-team league and received one first-place vote.
Collins, a senior back, is a two-time A10 Second Team pick and three-year starter, who has helped anchor an improved defense. She made two defensive saves last year, and she's also become a weapon on attacking penalty corners. Collins scored five goals last season, tied for the team lead among returners.
Wolf, a sophomore forward, was an A10 First Team and All-Rookie team selection last year. She also scored five goals and chipped in two assists as well.
A junior midfielder/forward, van der Kooi compiled 12 points last season, third-most on the team. She scored four goals and assisted on four more, and her four assists are the most for any returner.
Davidson opens the season Friday when Georgetown visits Belk Turf Field.
