ARLINGTON, Va. — Jamie Daly's team-leading ninth home run sparked a five-run ninth inning that propelled Davidson past George Washington 10-5 in Atlantic 10 baseball Friday evening at Tucker Field.
The game, which began at 3 p.m., included an 80-minute weather delay in the first inning and a second delay in the fifth and didn't conclude until after 8 p.m.
The Wildcats (21-18, 12-7 A-10) pulled away after Daly's solo shot to right, adding a run on a Brendan Fritch sacrifice fly and two more on a Fredy Diaz single. Will Brooks added a bases-loaded walk in the ninth as well, driving in his fourth run of the day.
Brooks had a two-RBI single right before the second weather stoppage in the fifth and singled in another run in the sixth. Scotty Edwards doubled in a run in the seventh to tie it at 5-all.
Starter Wilson Perkins logged four innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs. Simon Yochum took over from there and improved to 6-0, while allowing three hits and two earned runs and striking out four. He struck out two — and fielded a groundout — in the ninth.
Nick Mullen had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Revolutionaries (17-23, 9-10).
