'Cats Score Season-High 14 Runs in Series-Opening Win

With the victory, the Wildcats improved to 5-7, while Lehigh dropped to 3-7.
Davidson scored four runs in the first inning and four more in the second to lead 8-1 early, then scored six straight runs after the Mountain Hawks cut the deficit to one.
Matthew Manjooran's two-out, bases-clearing double down the left field line in the seventh inning gave the Wildcats the needed separation. Manjooran led the way with four RBIs, while Matthew Vannoy, Jamie Daly and Forrest Lietz had three hits apiece. Five Wildcats doubled, including Theo Loughlin twice.
On the mound, Simon Yochum struck out six in three innings of relief, while earning the win. Carson Taggart earned his first save and punched out four in the final three frames.
