'Cats Beat Winthrop 17-13 On The Road, Improve to 5-0

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Davidson women's lacrosse team improved to 5-0 after a 17-13 victory over the Winthrop Eagles on Thursday afternoon. This is the program's best five-game start to a season since the 2022 campaign.

Balanced scoring highlighted Davidson's first quarter against Winthrop. Allie Hartnett, Brooke Ross, Kaitlyn Uller, and Keira Best each had a goal. The Wildcats led 4-2 after the first quarter.

The 'Cats led 8-7 at halftime and then the offense erupted in the third quarter. Davidson outscored Winthrop 5-2 in that frame and did not look back the rest of the game.

Kaitlyn Uller and Brooke Ross each scored four goals to lead the offense. Jacqueline Callahan led 'Cats with two assists. Allie Hartnett, Aeryn Curren, Sophie Majernik, and Jacqueline Callahan all recorded three ground balls in the contest.

The Wildcats recorded 14 caused turnovers and Allie Harnett led the way with three.
