Wildcats Rout Patriots in Wire-to-Wire Affair

FAIRFAX, Va. – Josie Lambert and Jenna Skibbe combined for 12 of Davidson's 18 goals on Wednesday afternoon, as the Wildcats dominated George Mason in an 18-2 Atlantic 10 victory.
After being tied 2-2 through the first 10 minutes of play, the 'Cats held the Patriots scoreless over the next 50 to walk away with the commanding win. Through 60 minutes in cage, Kayla Joyce made nine saves and faced 17 shots for her seventh win of the season.
Now the winners of four straight, Davidson improves to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in A-10 play, while George Mason drops to 5-6 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
With 1:13 to go in the first quarter, Lambert netted her first goal of the game, which ignited a 16-0 scoring run for the Wildcats. In addition to Davidson's red-hot duo, Riley Cochrane, Jacqueline Callahan, Brooke Ross, Caroline Lockyer and Adrienne Leone all found the back of the net in Fairfax.
Callahan finished the contest with a game-high eight points, off one goal and seven assists. Her seven dishes marks the third most assists in a single game in program history.
Wednesday marks Davidson's third-straight game with 18 goals or more, and the fifth time this season the 'Cats have scored 15+ goals in a game.
