
Baseball Falls at Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS — Gardner-Webb scored four runs in the third inning and five in the seventh to top Davidson 12-2 in non-conference baseball action Tuesday night.
With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 1-2.
Both Wildcat runs came in the third inning, helping Davidson pull even 2-2. After Michael O'Shaughnessy doubled and Eli Putnam singled, Forrest Lietz and Jamie Daly plated runs with RBI-singles.
Gardner-Webb, however, quickly regained control with a home run in the bottom of the third.
O'Shaughnessy was 2-for-2 with two doubles, while Daly was 2-for-4.
Daniel Smith made his debut start on the mound and threw 1.2 innings in a no-decision.
