The Davidson baseball team will host Bucknell in a three-game series this weekend, beginning with a 5 p.m. game Friday.Â
The Wildcats enter the season's second weekend 1-2 after most recently losing 12-2 at Gardner-Webb Tuesday night. That came after they split a doubleheader with Bryant on Friday, Feb. 14.
Â
Infielder Michael O'Shaughnessy leads the Wildcats with a .444 average, a 1.615 OPS, a 1.000 slugging percentage, nine total bases and one home run. He's driven in two runs, as has outfielder Jamie Daly. Daly, a freshman, is hitting .375 (3-for-8).
Â
O'Shaughnessy homered in the first inning of the first game, then drove in the winning run in the second contest when he was hit-by-a-pitch with the bases loaded.
Â
On the mound, second-game starter Isaac Fix had a strong outing against Bryant. He threw five innings, allowed two hits and no runs, walked none and struck out five to lead the way.
Â
Jason Ban secured the first win of the season, throwing two innings of hitless and scoreless baseball.
Â
