Wildcats Take Series Opener Against Bucknell

DAVIDSON — Jamie Daly homered and Wilson Perkins set the tone on the mound as Davidson posted a 9-2 victory over Bucknell in Friday's series opener at Wilson Field.
Daly's first career homer, a solo shot to right in the fourth, made it 4-1 and was the Wildcats' second round-tripper of the season.
The Wildcats (2-2) scored three runs in the second. After Jack Cotrone singled and Forrest Lietz doubled, Chris Schuchart (sacrifice fly to left), Aidan Rice (line drive hit off the pitcher) and Noah Jouras (sacrifice bunt) plated runs.
Adam Katz singled in a run in the seventh and doubled in one in the eighth, while Jouras and Eli Putnam also had two hits apiece.
Perkins tossed six innings, allowed four hits and one earned run and struck out seven. Katz (2.0 IP) and Ed Hall (1.0) combined for six strikeouts in the final three innings.
