Field Hockey Falls to No. 10 Hawks

DAVIDSON — The 10th-ranked Saint Joseph's Hawks scored 38 seconds into Friday afternoon's game — and also with one second remaining — while earning a 5-0 win over Davidson in the field hockey teams' Atlantic 10 Conference opener.
With the loss, Davidson fell to 2-3, while the Hawks improved to 6-1.
Lily Santi, the 2022 A-10 Player of the Year, scored the Hawks' first two goals to lead the way. Two-time A-10 Player of the Year Manu Ghigliotti capped the day with a goal as time expired.
Davidson's shots came off the sticks of Macy Curtis, Celie Constantine and Hannah Merritt.
Davidson keeper Mary Kate Berg made five saves.

The Wildcats will host Saint Francis at 12 p.m. Sunday. It's the Davidson's Senior Day.
