DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's soccer team is set to open Atlantic 10 play this Saturday when they head to George Mason for a 7:00 p.m. kick off.

The 'Cats enter this weekend's matchup sporting a 3-0-1 record after defeating the UNCG Spartans their last time out.

So far this season, the Wildcats have showed off depth and balance at all three levels on the pitch. On offense, Davidson has outscored their opponents 7-1 this season and have been led by Vincent Bennage, Denis Krioutchenkov, and Alonzo Clarke.

Bennage, a junior from Kenosha, Wisc. has three goals on just six shots with four shots on goal and earned A-10 Offensive Player of the Week honors already this season. He also has scored in three of the last four contests.

Krioutchenkov, a sophomore from Milwaukee, has two goals and two assists to tie the team lead in points with six after scoring the game-winning goal on a free kick against UNCG. He also is second in the A-10 in shots with 15.

Clarke, a Windsor, Conn. native, has also notched a pair of goals for the 'Cats. The junior midfielder has provided offensive fireworks as a legitimate 50/50 ball threat in the box and doubles as a solid defender with speed and athleticism.

On top of a strong offense, which has sent out 52 shots in four games, the Wildcat defense has been lock down. The back line led by veterans Nico Cavallo, Trey Gardiner, and Eamon Moylan have allowed just 35 shots and one goal all season. The one goal allowed is the lowest by any team in the A-10.

In goal, Liedtka has made key saves when called upon and already has three shutout victories on the season. After taking over as the full-time starting keeper last season, the Wyncote, Pa. native has compiled a 6-2-1 record with six shutouts. He also leads the conference in goals against average (.250) and save percentage (.917). Both marks are also top-four in Division I.

About the Patriots
George Mason enters Saturday with a 1-2-2 record despite outscoring opponents 9-7 and averaging 1.80 goals per game compared to 1.40 by their opponents.

The Patriots are led in goals and points by Souley Diouf who has scored three times with an assist in just 280 minutes of game action. Henry Wachsman is second on the team with a pair of goals on five shots.

Jaume Salvado has gotten all five starts between the pipes for George Mason this season. He has allowed 7 goals, made 16 saves, and bolsters a 69.6% save percentage.
