4/8/2023 5:48:00 PM | Women's Track & Field

DURHAM, N.C. – Eleven Wildcats battled the elements at the Duke Invitational this weekend, and Meghan Burkholder, Aleia Gisolfi-McCready, and Rachel Horowitz all turned in top-ten finishes.

Meghan Burkholder, a Cozad, Neb. native, matched her career-best mark and set a new outdoor-best in the pole vault this weekend. Burkholder finished in third place in Group B of the event after she cleared 3.50 meters on her first attempt, then cleared 3.65 and 3.80 meters on her third try to give her a new personal-best and set a new school record. She remains atop the conference following this weekend's performance.

Aleia Gisolfi-McCready grabbed a fifth-place finish and ran her fastest time this outdoor season in the 400-meter hurdles. She crossed the finish line in 1:03.56 which would rank 7th in the A-10 entering this weekend.

Rounding out Davidson's top-ten finishes was Rachel Horowitz who took tenth in the 400 meters. Horowitz ran a 57.20 and her mark of 55.90 from two weeks ago ranks sixth-fastest in the conference.

The women's track team will be off next weekend before heading to the Virginia Challenge and USC Open on April 21 and 22.
