Wildcats Post 3-0 Win at St. Bonaventure
9/25/2022 3:34:00 PM | Women's Soccer
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — A second-half scoring barrage helped the Davidson Wildcats post a 3-0 win at St. Bonaventure Sunday afternoon and complete a two-win week in Atlantic 10 women's soccer.
With three goals in less than 10 minutes, the Wildcats pulled away in a match that was scoreless for more than 65 minutes and improved to 9-2-1 overall and 2-2 in the A-10.
"It was a good response in the second half," said coach Adam Denton. "We had a little bit more quality in the final third, a little more commitment to runs and once we got the first goal, the momentum carried us through to get the second and third."
Alli Jacobson got the Wildcats started in the 66th minute when she finished a Charlotte Snead cross for her first goal of the season.
Remi White struck in the 72nd minute, notching her second goal of the year after the Bona keeper deflected the ball in her direction.
In the 76th minute, it was Sophia Caruso's turn. The senior, celebrating her birthday Sunday, followed a Hailey Braemer free kick into the box and finished it for her first score of the season.
The Davidson defense did its part as well, holding the Bonnies to three shots-on-goal, which keeper Mary Grace Bunch saved for the team's second straight shutout.
"It's a tough team to play against and a tough trip, but I'm really proud of how they responded," said Denton. "A clean sheet on the road is also great."
