CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Davidson men's cross country took sixth place at the Atlantic 10 Championship race Saturday morning, paced by Owen Drometer's Top-15 finish. The Wildcats recorded 145 points in total at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
His performance landed him on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team for the second year in a row.
"The guys ran great today," Director of Men's Cross Country Renny Waldron said. "They have shown great improvement throughout the fall, but this race was by far their best of the season. They executed well and moved up in the latter stages of the race, and put it all out there. They have a lot to be proud about."
At the 3k split, the junior sat in 25th place and moved up to 18th place by the 6k split. He burst ahead to claim the 15th spot overall in the race, with a time of 25:20.7.
Not far behind him were Ben Gordon-Sniffen and Joe Dos Reis finishing in 27th and 28th place with times of 25:41.5 and 25:42.1 respectively.
Rounding out the Wildcat finishers were Jay Shanahan (25:52.3), Henry Griffith (26:17.1) and Kenny Eheman (26:39.7).
La Salle claimed the top spot with 53 points and host Dayton finished in fourth. Richmond's Peter Borger claimed in the individual crown, stopping the clock at 24:35.3.
