Wildcats Take 9th at ECU; Breiter Finishes Top-20

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Davidson College men's cross country team finished ninth out of 18 teams at the ECU Pirate Invitational on Friday morning. Senior Grahm Breiter took 16th out of 178 runners to lead the Wildcats.
After the team's last meet at Winthrop was canceled, the 'Cats returned to action this morning. Ladera Ranch, Calif. native Grahm Breiter led the way by turning in a career-best time in the 8K to take 16th out of the field of 178 runners. Breiter averaged a 4:56.2-per-mile pace over the course of the 4.97-mile course to finish comfortably inside the top-20.
Davidson's next-best finisher was another senior, Kenny Eheman. Eheman finished 58th with a time of 25:09.9 for an average pace of 5:03.8. It was his second-fast career 8K. Freshman Alex Thole was not far behind after he crossed the line in 5:05.7 which was good for 69th, and Ryan Harris finished in 25:27.3.
American won the event as a team with a competition-low score of 92, and George Mason's Wesley Bond ran the fastest time of the day at 23:38.6.

The cross country team will be back in action on October 19 when they travel to the Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg.
