BUIES CREEK, N.C  — Sophomore Jordan Wood netted a career-high six goals and Davidson picked up its second straight win with a 13-6 decision on the road at Campbell Saturday afternoon in women's lacrosse.

Davidson (4-3) avenged a 9-8 setback last year on its home field to the Camels, who fell to 3-6 on the campaign.

Wood scored three goals in each half and the Wildcats built an 8-2 halftime lead. Davidson scored the first four goals of the game and then added four more, two by Wood, to end the first half. The sophomore also filled the stat sheet with two groundballs, two caused turnovers and one draw control.

The lead would grow to 10 goals in the second half at 13-3 after Wood netted her final score of the game on a free-position shot with 7:18 left on the clock. Campbell closed by scoring the final three goals before time ran out.

Joining Wood in the scoring column was the 'Cats' top-two seasonal points leaders, Christine Molinari and Shayne Antolini. The duo had three points each, with Molinari netting her 11th goal and dishing out a pair of assists, while Antolini scored twice to give her six goals and tied Molinari with her 13th assist of the season. Molinari has a team-best 24 points, while Antolini is tied with Wood with 19.

Freshman Olivia Carey had another three-point outing, scoring a goal and picking up two assists to push her point total to 17 for the season. Genna Portner came off the bench to score a season-best two goals, while Sarah Kopp recorded her 10th goal of the season.

Campbell had just three players score on the afternoon, with Melissa Placek netting three goals. Kayla Reilly had two and Annie Pazulski scored once. All three also picked up one assist each.

Davidson had advantages in shots (30-26), groundballs (17-15) and free-position shots (3-6 / 0-1), while picking up one less draw control (10-11) than the Camels.

Goalie Rose Woolson had yet another double-digit save game, finishing with 12 to give her 77 on the season. She added three groundballs. The six goals allowed were one more than her season-best of five given up to Winthrop earlier this season.

In addition, the defense was also paced by Claudia Becker and Natalie Junior. Becker had career highs of four groundballs and three caused turnovers, while junior scooped up four groundballs, a draw control and forced one turnover.

Davidson returns home to take on another Big South foe in Gardner-Webb this coming Wednesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m.
