THEÂ SERIES
Davidson trails the all-time series 2-11 dating back to the first meeting in 2000. San Diego has won the last six meetings, but the 'Cats two wins came on the road.
LAST TIME OUT
Before the bye week, Davidson dropped its third straight, falling at home to Stetson, 56-53. For the second time this season, junior running back James Story found the end zone three times. He rushed for a career-high 117 yards and has scored in five straight games. Freshman Eli Turner, Jr. posted a season-high 148 yard rushing day and is one of six Wildcats to rush for 100 yards this season. Freshman Dreylan Hines notched his fourth interception of the season and second consecutive game with a thievery. Senior Nathan Campbell led the team with 8 solo stops, while TJ Elliott and Bryce Perry-Martin each record a tackle for loss.
SCOUTING THE TOREROS
The class of the PFL for the last few years, San Diego (7-2, 6-0 PFL) puts a 27-game league win streak and a conference home win streak of 33 games, dating back to the 2010 season, on the line against the Wildcats on Saturday. Leading the way for the Toreros offense is veteran quarterback Anthony Lawrence. Lawrence leads the PFL in yards per games (326.7) and total offense (3,006). Michael Bandy boasts 1,103 yards on 64 catches and 10 touchdowns.Â
LAST TIME THEY MET
San Diego jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 63-7 win at Richardson Stadium last November. The Wildcats scored out of the break when Tyler Phelps connected with William Wicks for a 4-yard score. Nathan Campbell posted a career-high 11 tackles including 10 solo stops and 1.0 for loss.
