THE SERIES
Davidson trails the all-time series 5-6 dating back to the first meeting in 2003. The Wildcats won the first five meetings, while the Bulldogs have claimed the last six meetings. The two did not square off in 2017.
SENIOR DAY & YOUTH FOOTBALL DAY
What better way to honor our seniors then with free youth tickets! That's right, all children, eighth grade and under, that wear their youth jersey to the game will get into Richardson Stadium free of admission!
Also Davidson students, remember the drawing for the Carolina Panthers vs. Seattle Seahawks low-level tickets will be drawn at halftime!
LAST TIME OUT
Davidson (5-5, 2-5 PFL) reset the FCS rushing record for yards in a game with 789 in a 56-52 setback at 2018 PFL Champion San Diego. Sophomore Wesley Dugger rushed for a career-high 231 yards, putting him over 1,000 for the second consecutive season. Four Wildcats rushed for over 150 yards; Dugger (231), William Wicks (197), Tyler Phelps (153) and Keylan Brown (150), tying Jacksonville State's record set in 2013. The Wildcats smashed its own record of 685 rush yards set earlier in the season in the marathon 91-61 victory over Guilford. Davidson picked off two USD passes, one from Rayshawn McCall and another by Cade Vela, the first of his young career. McCall was a force in the secondary, breaking up a pair of passes in the first half. He leads the PFL with 14 passes defended.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Butler (4-6, 2-5 PFL) snapped a five-game losing streak last Saturday against Stetson, 28-23. The Bulldogs got off to an impressive start this season, downing nationally ranked No. 24 Youngstown State in the season opener, 23-21, but have been up-and-down since. Senior quarterback Wll Marty ranks fourth in the league with 237.2 passing yards per game and 17 touchdown passes thrown. Pace Temple has caught 7 Marty TDs, while Stephen Dennis has 5. Marty has rushed for the most scores on the squad (6). Junior linebacker Luke Sennett comes in second in the league with 96 total tackles, including a 17 tackle performance against Jacksonville earlier this month.
LAST TIME THEY MET
Davidson jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, but fell in the fourth, 20-17, back in 2016. Cam Cheuvront '18 and Nick Nolting each caught first frame touchdowns in the losing effort. Steven Spears '18 and Nate Casey '17 led the team with 6 stops apiece, including 2.0 tackles for loss from Casey.
