Saint Louis Takes 2-0 A-10 Decision against Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – In the first of three straight home games to close out the regular season, Davidson dropped a 2-0 decision to Saint Louis Saturday night in women's Atlantic 10 soccer at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats dropped their fifth game in a row, falling to 4-12-1 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Billikens evened both their overall record (8-8) and A-10 mark (3-3) with the win.
In a game that was evenly played on the box score, Saint Louis was able to net a pair of goals on two set plays. SLU broke a scoreless game in the 61st minute when Mary Wright headed in a corner kick. Then the Billikens tacked on an insurance goal at the 80:28 mark on Kirsten Clemens' seventh goal of the year off a free kick.
Both teams took 11 shots, with Davidson putting four of those shots on goal. The Wildcats finished with one more corner than Saint Louis' seven.
Rachel Locke stopped a pair of shots in goal for the 'Cats while, Hannah Benben came up with three saves for Saint Louis.
The Wildcats play host to Rhode Island next Friday evening, Oct. 31, at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Stadium.
