DAVIDSON, N.C. Ann Fucigna and Emily Cooke continued their hot-scoring pace, combining for nine points in helping Davidson snap a two-game skid with a 13-6 win over Robert Morris Tuesday evening in women's lacrosse at Richardson Stadium.

Fucigna matched her season-high with four goals, while Cooke scored a pair and assisted on three other goals. The pair has combined for 23 goals and 16 assists in Davidson's (2-3) first five games to open the season.

They each scored a goal during an 8-0 run that saw the Wildcats break open a 4-all game with 7:22 left in the first half and grab a 12-4 lead. The run, which spanned from the 3:59 mark in the first half all the way to the 18:19 mark in the second half, saw seven different Wildcats net a goal, including two from Mary Leonard.

Davidson grabbed a quick 4-1 lead in the first 14 minutes of the game thanks to a pair of goals from Fucigna and three assists from Cooke. But, Emily Jamison hooked up with Emma Baukhages on back-to-back goals that saw the Colonials knot things up at 4-apiece, before Davidson started its winning run.

Emma Sissman matched Leonard with two scores of her own to push her season total to eight, while she also assisted on a pair goals.

Paige Logan and Erin Doherty each scored their first goals of the season. Besides Cooke, five other Wildcats earned an assist in the win.

Robert Morris (3-3) dropped its third straight game. Brittany Byerly, who scored a pair of goals to give her a team-high 14 on the season, led the Colonials. Jamison also had two scores, while Baukhages had two assists.

Davidson held a 36-22 advantage on shots, with its shot total being a season high. The 'Cats also tied their season-best with 22 groundballs.

Alanna Parker had a season-best five groundballs, while Jessica Melby and Logan added four apiece. Melby stopped eight shots in goals for her second win of the season.

Davidson takes to the road for a 12 p.m. contest this Saturday, March 16, against Villanova. This will be the first time both teams have faced each other since 1999 when the 'Cats took a 14-6 neutral site victory.
