2011: Started all 11 contests • Had 24 tackles (10 solo), three tackles for loss and two sacks on the season • Made four stops and assisted on a sack vs. Lenoir-Rhyne • Had three tackles and an assisted sack vs. Johnson C. Smith • Recorded two solo tackles and a sack vs. Morehead State • Assisted on sacks vs. San Diego and Valpo • Named to PFL Academic Honor Roll.

2010: Started all 10 games he played in; missed one contest with an injury • Tied for 16th in the PFL in sacks • Named to PFL Academic Honor Roll • Collected 19 tackles, including six for loss and three sacks, to go along with a forced fumble • Had three sacks and a forced fumble at Morehead State; named the PFL Defensive Player of the Week and FCS Honorable Mention National Defensive Lineman of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards after that performance • Recorded five tackles at Lenoir-Rhyne • Posted three tackles vs. Campbell and San Diego.

Prep Years: Played for coach Bob Wolfe at Apex High School • Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and all-conference in 2007 • Won WRAL Extra Effort Award in 2008 • Also a two-time all-conference selection in wrestling • National Merit Scholar and Honor Roll.
